African American
Genealogy Group

The African American Genealogy Group (AAGG), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, was founded in January 1989 in response to the ever-increasing number of people who expressed a desire to research their family “roots.”

AAGG is dedicated to the encouragement of and support for genealogy research and serves Philadelphia and the Tri-State area. Our members learn and grow together and are vital to the life of the organization.
