This year, the African American Genealogy Group of Philadelphia invites you to take part in our fundraising raffle, where every ticket purchased fuels new educational programming, outreach opportunities, and preservation of our powerful ancestral stories.
EVERY STORY COUNTS.
Every ticket is a step toward uplifting voices and stories that inspire future generations. Your support helps us fund genealogical education, community outreach and the preservation of precious family records. And you get a chance to win prizes that help you to connect your own incredible heritage with your families.
HOW TO PLAY
- Select which type of prizes you want to compete for: Gold or Silver or BOTH!
- Determine how many tickets you want to purchase.
- Complete the form and return it with payment to AAGG.

This is a 2025 Apple iPad (9th Generation) with A13 Bionic chip, 10.2-inch Retina Display screen, 64GB of storage, Wi-Fi, 12MP Front/8MP Back Camera, Touch ID, All-Day Battery Life in color: Space Gray.
DIGMYPICS MEMORY BOX
The small memory box gives service for 4 items. The items are based on what you can get scanned for your MemoryBox. The type of item determines how many item types will be scanned :
- 25 photo scans = 1 item
- 25 negative scans = 1 item
- 25 slide scans = 1 item
- 1 VCR tape transfer or 1 movie film transfer = 1 item
For example, if you want 4 photo items, then you could get 100 photos scanned.


SELMA 50TH ANNIVERSARY VOTING RIGHTS MOVEMENT COMMEMORATIVE PRINT
This print signed by Artist Deborah Shedrick commemorates the Civil Rights movements and activists who dared to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge in 1965 and the passage of the Voting Rights legislation. The framed poster is 18”x24”.
Deborah Shedrick’s work is vibrant, colorful and full of texture. Utilizing a palette knife, rollers and assorted objects, she shapes color and builds texture in rhythmic patterns and brilliant eruptions.
Having a passion for art since her childhood and completing her Master of Science Degree in Psychology, she returned to her first love of artSel as an adult. Shedrick lives and loves art. Essentially a self-taught artist she has been painting professionally since 1986. Her artwork is being shown nationwide in hotels, on book covers, televisions shows and for fundraisers. Deborah is the recipient of numerous awards in invitational and juried art shows.

ANCESTRYDNA DNA TEST KIT
We are raffling off 5 AncestryDNA Test Kits. This is a great way to get those cousins and aunties tested over the holiday season.
ARCHIVAL PHOTO BOXES
Win one of 2 photo archive boxes to store your family photos. These fabric-covered boxes can store up to 120 4″x6″ photographs, and each includes 12 acid-free envelopes and photo index card(s). Boxes are either a blue gray or mauve colors.

- Complete the ticket sales sheet
- Return your ticket sales sheet to AAGG

RAFFLE FUNDRAISER RULES
- Participation Period:
- The AAGG 2025 Raffle Fundraiser is open for participation from November 28, 2025, through December 31, 2025.
- Only raffle tickets purchased within this period are valid and eligible for the prize drawing.
- Entries postmarked before November 28 or after December 31, 2025, will not be included in the raffle.
- Eligibility:
- Participants must be 18 years of age or older to purchase raffle tickets.
- The raffle is only open to U.S. residents.
- Board members of the African American Genealogy Group of Philadelphia (AAGG) and their immediate family members living in the same household are not eligible to win prizes.
- Participants do not need to be a member of the African American Genealogy Group of Philadelphia (AAGG) to participate or win.
- Ticket Sales:
- Tickets will be sold based on the prize level. The Silver Prize level consists of prizes worth $50 or less. The Gold Prize level consists of prizes starting at $51.
- Participants can purchase raffle tickets for both prize levels.
- Tickets are available for purchase at the following rates:
- Silver Prize Level
- 2 tickets for $5
- 5 tickets for $10
- Gold Prize Level
- 1 ticket for $10
- Silver Prize Level
- All ticket sales requests must be submitted with a completed form including full contact information (name, address, email, phone). Failure to submit full contact details may result in the loss of prize winnings.
- All ticket sales payments must be received via U.S.P.S. mail in the form of a personal check or money order.
- All payments must be sent to AAGG, Attn: Holiday 2025, P.O. Box 27356, Philadelphia, PA, 19118-0356.
- All tickets must be paid for in full before the draw. Only paid tickets are eligible for the raffle.
- Prizes:
- The Gold prizes are: one (1) Apple iPad (9th Generation): A13 Bionic chip, 10.2-inch Retina Display, 64GB, Wi-Fi, 12MP Front/8MP Back Camera, Touch ID, All-Day Battery Life – Space Gray, Manufactured: 2025, Retail Value: $449; one (1) Digmypic Memory Box, Retail Value: $59; one (1) Print of Selma 50th Anniversary of Voting Rights Commemorative poster. Framed and signed by the Artist Deborah Shedrick, Valued at: $250;
- The Silver prizes are five (5) individual Ancestry AncestryDNA Kits. Retail Value Each: $40; two (20) archival photo boxes with twelve (12) acid-free envelopes and photo index card(s).
- The prizes are awarded as-is and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other item.
- The maximum amount of times the same individual may win a prize is: 2.
- Prizes will be shipped to winners within ten (10) business days of confirmation of their contact information.
- Draw:
- The winner will be selected by a random draw.
- The draw will be conducted by a neutral party not eligible to win.
- The winner will be announced live during the January 2026 AAGG General Monthly Meeting at starting at 6:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on Tuesday, January 13th, 2025.
- The winner does not need to be present to win.
- Winner Notification:
- The winner will be notified by the contact information provided at the time of purchase.
- Winners will be notified by both phone and email.
- If the winner cannot be contacted within 30 days, a new winner may be selected.
- Proceeds:
- All proceeds from ticket sales benefit the African American Genealogy Group of Philadelphia.
- Disclaimer:
- By participating in this raffle, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the African American Genealogy Group of Philadelphia, its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers from any and all liability for injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or relating to participation in the raffle or acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize.
